Do work that matters:

As a team member managing deceased estates cases, you need to show complex decision making techniques while displaying high level of customer empathy. In addition to this you need to be proactive in contributing to the overall success of the team through displaying the values of the group.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to work in a fast paced environment, have clear communication skills and have a proven ability to show empathy. You must be able to demonstrate a genuine level of care, manage customer expectations and communicate decisions.

See yourself in our team:

This role sits within the Colonial First State (CFS) Operations Division. CFS Operations is the largest division in CFS and is responsible for looking after the day to day interactions we have with our clients, advisers, investors and employers.

Your team sits within the Insurance & Employer Services team. We are responsible for the end to end claims management covering Insurance Claims, Early release of Super and Deceased Estates for Super, Pension and Investment Products.

We do this by:

  • Managing a portfolio of Deceased Estates claims across products serviced by Colonial First State – this includes investment and superannuation products.
  • Processing new claims and issue the relevant claim kit.
  • Communicating effectively with customers to ensure they are clear on claim requirements and processes.
  • Building effective relationships with customers, third parties and internal stakeholders.
  • Review received documents and follow up on any outstanding requirements via verbal and written channels.
  • Ensuring all decisions made in relation to a distribution of a Deceased Estate are in line with SIS Legislation and the Trust Deed.
  • Answering all incoming queries relating to Deceased Estates.
  • Processing payments upon finalisation of a claim.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Good Financial Services industry experience and ideally Insurance within Superannuation.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to handle difficult conversations with stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, both internally and externally, with people at all levels.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems.
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Ability to prioritise and address multiple conflicting requirements.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be highly valued, as is RG146 Compliance.
