Do work that matters

You will take a leading role in developing and managing the risk and compliance framework across Colonial First State Product, driving risk maturity within the team and building a culture of proactive risk management. This role will be responsible for overseeing how the product team meet and enhance the expectations around risk management and constantly improving our risk governance processes in line with the APRA report outcomes.

The Colonial First State Risk and Operations team sits within the Product business unit and is responsible for designing, assessing, evaluating, managing and monitoring the overall risk processes and policies of Product and for managing the operating rhythm of the product team, including product planning, 90 day planning and the product academy.

In any given week you will be responsible for

Product:

  • Risk management and compliance of FirstChoice, CFS Wrap platforms, and compliance of CFS’s MySuper products.
  • Supporting the team and driving incident rectification by ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues whilst putting member interests first.
  • Ensuring the team effectively engage with internal and external customers on matters relating to FirstChoice and CFS Wrap.
  • Management of audit and risk processes and keeping policies up to date.

Risk & Governance:

  • Manage the risk appetite statement for Product with oversight of operational, compliance, insurance, and market risk.
  • Implementation of risk mitigation strategies for critical risks, and the ongoing monitoring of these risks.
  • Management and continuous improvement of the risk and compliance management framework.
  • Governance and advocacy, including managing Board, Committee and Management communication (including review of audit issues).
  • Monitor reputational and operational risks emerging in the wealth management space.
  • Support for insurance governance, establishment of a framework to assess and monitor managed account risk and insurance risk.

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Thorough knowledge of Wealth Management and Superannuation industry, particularly retail.
  • Strong understanding of Platforms, including Wrap; Investments Industry, distribution channels and broader technical knowledge.
  • Previous experience in end to end delivery of strategic or regulatory projects.
  • Strong focus on managing risk.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management experience and ability to engage and influence across multiple business and support areas, as well as Executive Committee and Board level.
  • Strong ability to solve complex problems, drive and deliver outcomes.
